| Sometimes tears and prayer for our country are the best form of Patriotism. -Karis The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama. Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama. The judge's poem sums it up quite well. America the Beautiful, or so you used to be. Land of the Pilgrims' pride; I'm glad they'll never see. Babies piled in dumpsters, abortion on demand, Oh, sweet land of liberty; your house is on the sand. Our children wander aimlessly, poisoned by cocaine, Choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain. From sea to shining sea, our Nation turns away From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray. We've kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown. When earth is but His footstool, and Heaven is His throne. We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core, Appointing Godless Judges; who throw reason out the door. Too soft to place a killer in a well deserved tomb, But brave enough to kill a baby before he leaves the womb. You think that God's not angry, that our land's a moral slum? How much longer will He wait before His judgment comes? How are we to face our God, from Whom we cannot hide? What then is left for us to do, but stem this evil tide? If we who are His children, will humbly turn and pray; Seek His holy face and mend our evil way. Then God will hear from Heaven, and forgive us of our sins, He'll heal our sickly land and those who live within. But, America the Beautiful, if you don't -- then you will see, A sad but Holy God withdraw His hand from Thee. ~~Judge Roy Moore~~ This says it all. May we all offer our prayers for Judge Moore to be blessed and for America to wake up and realize what we need to do to keep OUR America the Beautiful.

| Merry Christmas and a Good New Year to everyone. I had a nice time spending Christmas with my extended family. Christmas day I had the opportunity to join the Andersons for their celebration of Jesus' birth. It was good to be able to spend time with them and be included in their family for Christmas. I will be heading to New York next week to spend time with my own family. It will be good to spend more than one or two days with them...I figured out that it has been three years since I've been at my folk's place for more than 3 days in a row. As of last night I was planning to drive some aqaintances of mine down to West Palm Beach Florida because they didn't have transportation worked out. However, they got off safely this morning, so I'll sit here and relax a little longer. It would have been fun but slightly insane for me to do that round trip in under four days. But who said I was sane...lol. Anything for a friend. Besides, I had the Lord's blessing-which means more than anything else to me. So here is a blatant promotion of my friend's website. Check it out and enjoy some of the best worship music I know. (For those of you who don't read German, click the little flag icon) Enjoy. http://www.regezsisters.com Their music speaks to the heart, and gives words to my prayers. | | |
| Yes, I am alive. No, I have not fallen off the face of the earth. These days I find myself at church much of the week, working or just hanging out. During my few hours at home, I spend my time either talking to roommates or on the Plaza reading and writing. God has been good to me in providing for my needs each and every day, while giving me the time to spend with family and friends as needed. I just spent a wonderful week traveling to and from the East coast for family Thanksgiving, so now I look forward to a less arduous Christmas at home with friends. Unfortunately, I had to choose between Christmas and Thanksgiving for visiting family, but I am extremely thankful for the time I could spend with them. I wish you all a very happy Christmas, and I hope that you will be able to spend time celebrating the birth of Christ with family and friends. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night! | | |
| I'm back! I finally made it to Wales again for four beautiful days in Caernarfon and Bangor. It was good to just visit friends, but the historian in me loved seeing Edward I 's castle of Caernarfon and visiting the ruins of the Roman fort of Segontium. This trip confirmed that Wales has a place in my heart. I love the mix of rugged mountains and brilliant blue seas, with the music of the lilting language in my ear. Gwynedd is the kind of place where it is easy to see the warriors of the past and imagine their lives as you walk where they walked and see the same sights they saw. I also spent a couple days in Albania and visited friends and future family there. :) The home of the ancient Illyrians is just as rugged as Wales, but in a much more dry and adriatic way. Here is the blend of Greek, Byzantine, Turkish, and Communist influences which mix smoothly into a unique culture. I found it interesting that the walls of the castles were of similar design to Caernarfon, as both were fashioned after the walls of Constantinople in the Byzantine fashion despite being worlds apart. I look forward to going back and seeing more of this fascinating country next year. | | |
| Heya folks. I'm back again. Being sick, bored and stuck at home seemed to be a good incentive to write again. It is beautiful outside today. The grass is green, and the wind which sends the clouds scudding across the sky also makes the trees sing and shiver. The birds are singing, and the flowers smell wonderful, but they can't quite compete with the scent of the herb chicken I have in the oven. (That is a good thing, I promise, though the occasion is infrequent) I had hoped to fly to England this weekend to visit friends, but work has left me so drained and ill at the moment, that I don't know if it will be possible. One of these days...I'll make it back across the ocean. Hard to believe it's been four years now since I spent the winter in Wales. I just pray that it won't be another four before I see Bangor again. Until next time. Long Live the True King! | | |
